I'm going to try to make this short and sweet. I'm Nick Santos, and I'm the guy who's created this whole website (excluding all of the authors). To best explain what StoryBuilder is, I think I need to explain my goals for what I want it to be. Other than a killer collaborative online fiction site, I want StoryBuilder to be:

  • A place where you can come back multiple times a day and always find something new
  • A place you can always browse around and find something you enjoy
  • A place to have fun with friends, whether they write stories with you, or whether you just let them read some of your writing
  • A place to meet and have fun with new and creative people on the Internet

Now, many of you are probably saying right now, "oh, I'm not creative enough," or "sounds good, but I'm a terrible writer." You couldn't be more wrong. Here you will always find people who are supportive, as well as people who genuinely love your work, and they will tell you that.

Now you know my goals, and a bit about the people already on StoryBuilder, but you don't know what it can do. StoryBuilder allows you to write for and with as many or as few people as you want, and you may specify who these people are, or leave it open to whoever wants to write with you. This allows you to meet new people, or have fun writing with just your friends.

StoryBuilder is also a very versatile system. It's not only used for writing stories. Some people have started forums for just their friends, or discussion boards for political talk, as well as various other message board type "stories." Still others have made storybuilder their own personal journal/blog, allowing them to leave it open to the Internet, or let a few select friends read it. In this sense, StoryBuilder can be whatever you want it to be for you, and in a sense, by you.

Anyway, I hope I've told you a bit about StoryBuilder. If you feel you still need more convincing, get out there and view some stories, or if you feel ready to begin writing, simply sign up and go! (about a minute long - really)

Thanks, and enjoy,
Nick
